I fall completely on Wexler’s side on the argument as a whole, but I thought Condi parried this pretty well. It’s the standard Bush administration argument: “We only had the information we told you we had, and if it was wrong it must have been someone else’s fault. No, they won’t testify. Executive Privilege, ya see. Documents? No, we destroyed those. It’s policy. Illegal? No, those laws don’t apply to us. Ask the Attorney General.” Condi wins here because she actually does have a brain in her head and she’s able to stick to her lines in the story.
Smart chick. It’s too bad (for her) that she hitched her wagon to the Bush family dynasty that Clusterfuck-George has sullied.
