Mr Bush who had not contacted Gen Musharraf directly since he established emergency law on Saturday, told a press conference: “You can’t be the president [of Pakistan] and the head of the military at the same time. I had a very frank discussion with him.”
Hmmm. President and head of the military… something about that sounds familiar. More wisdom from President Bush.

Bush isn’t really head of the military ( what’s Commander in Chief anyway) but he has circumvented almost everything in his way to become HNIC.

“Bush isn’t really head of the military”?
Yes he is.
Article II, US Constitution: The Constitution of the United States gives the title to the President of the United States, who “shall be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States…”
George Bush is the highest ranking officer in the armed forces and can assume battlefield command if he chooses to do so, though this only happened with Washington in the Whiskey Rebellion, and Madison in the war of 1812.
See the irony now, where Bush is telling Musharraf, “You can’t be president and head of the military”?
