I think ‘as soon as possible’ is a reasonable and honest answer to a complex problem. I don’t think he’s naive about the logistics of the operation.

Show me where he’s saying that amnesty will be granted anyway. I missed that. Here are his views on illegal immigration: ronpaul_immigration.pdf

Although you may have meant it as a cheap shot, pointing out that Ron Paul is an OB-GYN might be more significant than you intended. As a Doctor, I consider him as someone who has an understanding of and respect for human life. As that particular kind of doctor, and with his experience as a surgeon in the military, I would imagine he’s got the ability to think clearly in a life or death crisis.

Because his entire track record of voting throughout his congressional history is consistent with his message, I think he’s very honest, and I agree that it follows that he’s a nice guy.

You didn’t mention that he’s served in congress for 20 years or that he was a captain in the military. These might be pertinent to running the country too. I thought you knew all about that.

Regardless of his stance on all the other issues, I would vote for him as a republican, libertarian or independent for one primary reason; to restore the balance of power between the branches of government. This I believe he will do. I also believe this to be essential in order for the US to remain the most powerful organization on the planet.

<cheapshot>… and I’m sure he’ll do a better job than a certain grand-standing cross-dresser we all know who got his butt whipped in a few debates because he didn’t have his facts straight. ;) </cheapshot>

Darn good show by Ron Paul, it’s brought him a little bit more in the spotlight. The mass media will continue to try to slander him as much as they can but he has alot of support. In talking to my friends that work in a variety of different restaurants they all say that they have received Ron Paul information from their customers. November 5th was also Guy Fawkes day so it should come as no surprise that Paul had a record breaking day. ( See V for Vendetta for more on that.)

I see that the ghoul has finally figured out that he can’t run on 9/11 alone, what’s an inexperienced supposed to do?

Dave, I like that you have helped in pointing out the good about Ron Paul, I’m gonna donate to his campaign and hope you will too.

How great would it be to see a Paul/Kucinich ticket?

  3. Dave says:

I didn’t think you were harsh, Frank. This is kind of important stuff. Let’s face it, Ron Paul’s ideas aren’t mainstream, and it’s not always comforting to hear someone say, “Elect me, and I’ll get in there and change everything”. Especially if your life is going well as it is.

I don’t necessarily want him to make all the changes he says he’d like to, and I doubt that he can effect many of them without the backing of Congress, anyway. I like his Constitutionalist ideas, I like his ideas about what the Federal Government has no business in, I like his push for smaller government and State’s rights, and I like his stand on restoring the balance of power. I like the man’s integrity, too.

Everything else I have no opinion about. Except the single women in tight sweaters.

When he says “I’m afraid is coming” is he referring to the immigration bill he’s trying to stop?

Who would do all the work? When I was still in NJ I actually had a customer get mad at me because I didn’t speak spanish(at gelotti) I, of course, in a friendly way told him to learn English or go home.

  5. Dave says:

For what it’s worth, people who envision ‘America’ in its broadest sense as a nation of white Christians are not really seeing the larger picture of what America is designed to be.

The melting pot isn’t a cauldron in which we boil the ethnicity out of people and bleach them into WASPs. If a Latino majority became legal American citizens and demoted English as the second language, that’s in perfect alignment with American tenets.

Someone from New Mexico or Hawaii who speaks a language other than English isn’t any less an American than you or me.

  6. Dave says:

No, not at all. That’s the law. My point is that the law can change and it would still be America. That once citizenship is granted, we’re equal in the eyes of the law.

I’m not saying I like it, either.

  7. Dave says:

    Point taken!

  8. Dave says:

He’s gonna do it again on December 16th… watch for it :)
